Britney Says

Britney Says...

'I had never heard of Edgar Lee Masters until I listened to Richard Buckner's great CD The Hill. Richard is such a great singer, he has such a lot of passion and soul, and he's so smart. His own lyrics are wonderful, but with this record he set a load of poems by Edgar Lee Masters to his own music, and it's a great result. Anyway, it made me want to find out more about the poet, and it turns out he's a really interesting historical American character. They ought to teach about him in High School. Or do a History Channel special on him or something. That would be so cool. I really love the History Channel. We should all know something about our pasts. Anyway, I told my record label I wanted to do something similar to The Hill for my next CD. Like using Emily Dickinson or Sylvia Plath poems or something. They looked at me funny, said no and sent me to Hawaii again for a photo shoot.'
