The Label Fable

FETISH

Early ‘80s contemporary of Postcard. Significant for its generic Neville Brody sleeves, which are definitely a defining feature of the time. Some very out there releases, but at times captured the pioneering pop spirit. The great moments being Clock DVA’s twisted take on punk, funk and jazz and the Bush Tetra’s jagged funk voodoo. Perhaps best known for the 23 Skidoo releases, especially the 'Last Words'/ 'Gospel Comes To New Guinea' 12", which many argue paved the way for today’s dance experiments. Though again in this age of information overload, why can’t I buy CD re-releases of all the 23 Skidoo material. Interesting.
