The Label Fable

KENT

Lit up the early/mid ‘80s with smartly packaged LPs collating the best of ‘60s soul, making available classic sounds and beats to a new generation. Revolutionary in the sense that by creating an aesthetically pleasing product, desirable in itself, the snobbery of the soul scene was undermined. Now, seems to coming into it’s own again with some very classy CDs and recent releases like Dave Godin’s Deep Soul Treasures and Chess Uptown Soul rank with the label’s finest.
